How to Purchase Indian Phone Numbers in Saleshandy Dialer

Learn how to buy a local Indian phone number inside Saleshandy — the compliance check you need to clear first, how the cart works for Indian numbers, and what happens at checkout.

Hello, Saleshandy users!

Saleshandy Dialer now supports local Indian phone numbers, so you can call and be called back on a number your Indian prospects recognize. Because Indian telecom regulations require registered businesses to verify their identity before renting local numbers, buying an Indian number works a little differently from buying a US or Canada number. This guide walks you through the whole flow.

Which Indian Number Series Are Available

Saleshandy offers local numbers with two number series - 080 and 022:

City

Number Series

Price

Bengaluru

$10.32 / quarter

Mumbai

022 prefix

Step 0: Complete Compliance Verification First

This is the part that's different from buying a US or Canada number.

Indian numbers can't be purchased until your account has an approved compliance application on file. Think of this as a one-time KYC (Know Your Customer) check — Saleshandy verifies your business documents so Indian numbers rented through your account meet local telecom regulations.

When you select India in the purchase flow, Saleshandy checks your compliance status before showing you any numbers to buy. What you see depends on where your application stands:

Only once your status shows Approved will Saleshandy let you see and buy Indian numbers. For a full walkthrough of submitting documents and understanding each status, see How to Complete Compliance (KYC) Verification for Indian Numbers.

Step 1: Search for Available Numbers

Once your compliance application is approved:

  1. Go to Phone Numbers in the Dialer module.

  2. Click Purchase Number.

  3. In the country selector, choose India. A city dropdown replaces the free-text area input used for US/Canada — pick Bengaluru or Mumbai.

  4. Click + on any number to add it to your cart.

Step 2: Build Your Cart

As you add numbers, a cart footer appears showing the number count and total cost (e.g., "3 numbers · $30.96/quarter"). Click it to open the full cart panel, which lists each number with its region, price, and a remove option. A Clear all option is available if you want to start over.

One important rule: a cart can only hold numbers from one country at a time. The cart locks to whichever country you added first.

  • If your cart already has Indian numbers and you try to add a US or Canada number (or vice versa), you'll see a tooltip on the "+" button instead of the number being added: "Your cart already has [US / India] numbers. Complete that purchase first, or clear the cart to buy from a different country."

If you need numbers from both India and the US/Canada, complete one purchase, then start a new cart for the other country.

The Next button is disabled while your cart is empty and takes you to the registration details step once you have at least one number selected.

Step 3: Choose Your Compliance Application

For India, the registration details step looks different from US/Canada — instead of a contact-details form, you'll see a compliance application selector. This tells Saleshandy which of your approved compliance applications the new numbers should be registered under.

  • Every approved compliance application on your account appears as its own card, with a radio button, the application name, an "Approved" badge, and a chevron to expand it.

  • Expanding a card shows a preview of the uploaded documents (Certificate of Incorporation, GST Certificate) with filename and file size.

  • By default, Saleshandy pre-selects your most recently approved application, since it's most likely to reflect your current business details.

  • If you only have one approved application, it's automatically selected and expanded for you — no extra clicks needed.

  • You can have more than one approved application for the same city; all of them show up here, and you choose which one to link the new numbers to.

  • Need to register under a different business entity? Click Submit new application, which takes you to the Compliance form to submit a new one.

Step 4: Review Billing and Pay

Clicking Submit & Purchase opens a Billing Summary showing the total numbers purchased and the total amount to pay.

Once payment goes through, your Indian numbers are active immediately and appear in your Phone Numbers table, linked to the compliance application you selected in Step 3.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Indian numbers can only call Indian numbers. Once purchased, a +91 number can only be used to place calls to other +91 numbers — this is the reverse of how US/Canada numbers work.

  • Your compliance application matters after purchase too. If the linked compliance application later becomes suspended or expires, the numbers tied to it may be restricted from making calls. Keep your compliance status healthy to avoid any interruption.

  • The Compliance Application column on your Phone Numbers table shows which application each Indian number is linked to, so you always know where to look if something needs attention.

FAQs

Which Indian number series can I buy numbers for?

Bengaluru (080 prefix) and Mumbai (022 prefix), both priced at $10.32/quarter.

Why can't I see any Indian numbers to buy?

You need an approved compliance (KYC) application first. If you haven't submitted one, or it's pending, rejected, or suspended, you'll see a compliance gate instead of the numbers table.

Can I put US and Indian numbers in the same cart?

No. A cart is locked to the first country you add numbers from. Complete or clear that cart before buying numbers from a different country.

Which compliance application gets linked to my new numbers?

Whichever one you select in the registration details step. Saleshandy pre-selects your most recently approved application by default, but you can choose any approved application on your account.

Are Indian numbers billed the same way as US/Canada numbers?

Yes — quarterly, upfront, auto-renewing monthly. Mid-month cancellations don't get a partial refund; the number stays active through the end of the current billing cycle.
