Hello there, Saleshandy users!

CSV Enrichment in Lead Finder lets you upload your existing lead or company lists and prepare them for enrichment by correctly mapping your data fields.

This step ensures Lead Finder understands your file structure and can accurately enrich your leads.

Step 1: Upload Your CSV File

Start by uploading your CSV file into Lead Finder.

Supported format requirements:

  • File type: CSV (.csv only)

  • Max file size: 25 MB

  • Max columns: 100

  • Encoding: UTF-8

  • Header row: Required

What your file should include

Your CSV should contain at least one identifying field per lead, such as:

  • First and last name

  • Company name or domain

  • LinkedIn URL

  • Email (optional but helpful)

Common sources:

  • CRM exports

  • Event attendee lists

  • Purchased lead lists

  • Internal databases

Once uploaded, Lead Finder validates your file before moving to mapping.

Step 2: Understand Field Mapping

Field mapping connects your CSV columns to Lead Finder enrichment fields.

Example:

Lead Finder Field

Your CSV Column

First Name

first_name

Last Name

last_name

Company Name

company

Email

email_address

Auto-Detection of Fields

Lead Finder automatically detects and maps common column names.

Examples:

  • “first name”, “fname” → First Name

  • “company”, “organization” → Company Name

  • “email”, “email address” → Email

Auto-mapped fields are pre-filled, but can be changed anytime.

Step 3: Required Fields for Enrichment

People Enrichment

You must map:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • At least one of:

    • Company Name

    • Company Domain

    • LinkedIn URL

    • Email

Company Enrichment

You must map:

  • Company Name

  • At least one of:

    • Company Domain

    • LinkedIn URL

If required fields are missing, Lead Finder will block progression with a validation error.

Step 4: Preview and Validate Mapping

Before continuing, you’ll see a preview of your mapped data.

This helps you confirm:

  • Correct column mapping

  • Sample values are accurate

  • No mismatched fields

Example:

Field

Sample Data

First Name

first_name

John, Sarah

Company

company

Acme, TechCorp

Email

Common Mapping Mistakes

1. Incorrect field mapping

Mapping unrelated columns (e.g., company → email) reduces enrichment accuracy.

2. Missing identifiers

Without a valid identifier (name, email, domain, or LinkedIn), enrichment may fail.

3. Duplicate column headers

Use preview values to ensure correct column selection.

4. Incomplete name data

Missing first or last names can reduce match success for People enrichment.

What Happens After Mapping?

Once mapping is complete:

  1. Lead Finder validates your configuration

  2. You proceed to enrichment setup

  3. You choose enrichment type and filters

  4. Processing begins

FAQs

What happens if I don’t map all required fields?

You won’t be able to proceed. Lead Finder requires minimum identifiers to ensure accurate enrichment.

Can I change mapping after uploading the file?

Yes. You can update field mappings anytime before starting enrichment.

Why is my CSV not auto-mapping correctly?

Auto-mapping depends on column names. If headers are unclear or unusual, you may need to map them manually.

What if my CSV has duplicate column names?

Lead Finder will show sample values so you can choose the correct column during mapping.

Does mapping affect credits or pricing?

No. Mapping only defines how your data is interpreted. Credits are applied only during enrichment.
