Hello there, Saleshandy users! 👋
Discover the full potential of Airtable's automation features by seamlessly receiving Saleshandy data through webhooks. Maximize your productivity and streamline your workflow like never before.
This integration lets you directly capture real-time email interaction metrics, such as opens, clicks, replies, outcomes directly into your Airtable base.
This method is ideal for sales and marketing teams to analyze campaign performance and enhance decision-making processes without manual data entry.
What You’ll Need
A Saleshandy account.
An Airtable account with permission to create automations.
Basic understanding of webhooks and how they transmit data.
Step 1️⃣: Prepare Your Airtable Base
Create a new base or select an existing one tailored to track your email campaigns.
Set up a table with columns that correspond to the data you expect to receive from Saleshandy (e.g., prospect-outcome-updated, outcomeChangedAt, newOutcome, oldOutcome)
Step 2️⃣: Configure Saleshandy for Webhook
Log into your Saleshandy account and navigate to the settings or integration area where you can manage webhooks.
Create a new webhook. You’ll need the URL from Airtable (which we'll get in the next step), and you will select the events you want to track (e.g., when an email is sent, opened, when Prospect Outcome is changed or a link is clicked).
Step 3️⃣: Set Up Automation in Airtable
In your Airtable base, go to Automations (found on the top menu).
Create a new automation:
Go back to your Saleshandy webhook setup and paste the Airtable webhook URL as the destination for Saleshandy data. Save your changes in Saleshandy.
Back in Airtable, for the action in your automation, select "Create record" and choose the table where you want the data to go.
Map the fields from the webhook data to the corresponding columns in your Airtable table. This typically involves parsing JSON data that comes from the webhook.
Note: If the fields are not available directly, then change the configuration from Static to Dynamic. It will let you use variables from a previous step of this automation.
Step 4️⃣: Test and Activate Your Automation
Test the setup by sending a test email through Saleshandy or triggering one of the configured events to ensure that the data flows correctly into Airtable.
Adjust the mappings if necessary based on the test results. Make sure you have the correct field type in your Airtable base, as if it's not correct, the test will be unsuccessful.
Once confirmed, activate the automation in Airtable.
Conclusion
This integration setup not only saves time but also enhances data accuracy by automating the data entry process from Saleshandy to Airtable. Cold emailers can now focus more on analyzing data and crafting targeted strategies rather than managing data entry, thus maximizing the effectiveness of their email campaigns.
Tips for Success
Regularly check and maintain the webhook and automation settings to ensure they continue to function correctly as platforms update their features or APIs.
Keep your API and webhook URLs secure, and restrict access to your Airtable base to protect sensitive data.
Make sure you have the accurate field type in Airtable as if it's not. This is one of the most common mistakes users make.
This guide provides a clear path to integrating Saleshandy with Airtable using built-in automation, facilitating efficient and automated data management directly within their databases.
